Post-Event

The event isn’t over when the last talk ends. A few things in the hours and days after keep the momentum going and set up the next edition.

Right after the event

If there’s a networking session or after party happening elsewhere, announce it before people leave. Some attendees won’t know unless you tell them.

Before the room clears, take a moment to thank everyone: speakers, the sponsor company, volunteers, and the attendees. If you already have the date and venue for the next edition, announce it now. An in-person announcement lands better than a social post.

The next day

Post on social media with photos from the event. Tag the speakers, the sponsor, and the volunteers. Keep it simple: who was there, what was talked about, a thank-you. Once the recording is processed and uploaded, post that it’s available. Some people who couldn’t attend will be watching for it.

Get in touch with the sponsor within a day or two. Thank them personally, not just with a social tag. Share the attendance numbers and any information you agreed to provide: attendee names, emails, job titles. Ask how they felt the event went. If it went well, this is the right moment to start the conversation about hosting again.

Gathering feedback

A short survey sent to attendees gives you useful data over time: what worked, what didn’t, what people want more of. Keep it short enough that people actually fill it out. A few questions is better than a detailed form nobody completes.

Ask the sponsor for feedback too. Their perspective on whether the event met their expectations is worth knowing.
